Different perspectives on female beauty in different types of art. And a tip if you are visiting Paris, there is currently a Irving Penn exhibition in Grand Palais, it wasn’t the greatest one but in any case I spotted few gems.

Ed van der Elsken – Love on the left bank
PARIS TIPS – First year of university I was doing a visual research about Chloé. As Gaby Aghion was very inspired by those cool kids of left bank in Paris, I came accross to some of Ed van der Elsken’s photographs. My teacher advised me to search his book Love on the left bank which took me almost a year to find (ok I wasn’t looking too hard), until one day I stopped by at Book Marc searching something completely else, but oh the excitement when I saw the book!
So you can imagine my excitement when yesterday I was doing a list of must see current- and upcoming exhibitions. In my favourite museum in Paris, Jeu de Paume, there’s going to be Ed van der Elsken exhibition starting in June 13th. I migh have to see it twice.
PARIS TIPS – I wanted to share what is currently on my visit – list and couple of all time favourites:
–Icons of modern art. The Shchukin Collection – Fondation Louis Vuitton. Even though I don’t mind standing outside on the line while admiring the beautiful building, this time I will buy the tickets online.
–Herb Ritts – Maison Européenne de la Photographie. Actually went to see this already, beautiful photographs but unfortunately badly curated.
–René Magritte, La trahison des images – Centre Pompidou. I highly recommend to visit during late opening hours, with a good luck you end up being the only person.
–Soulèvements – Jeu de Paume. One of my favourite museums in Paris.
–Paris Photo – Grand Palais 10-13.11.
-Musée Rodin. One of the best places in Paris to escape Paris. And look at the photo above, that’s were they keep all the light.
